Every Monday while the Bible College is in session we have an adventure day, where we take the students to various parts of the Island (and generally the beach). Yesterday we took the students to Zakimi Castle in Yomitan Village. This castle was given to a warrior, named Gamasaru, who brought the various kingdoms in Okinawa together, and I guess he liked the stones from his previous castle because according to legend he had that one dismantled and used those stones to make this castle. Zakimi castle was even used during WWII as a missile base for the Japanese army. the view from the top of the castle was great! after visiting the castle we went to a phenomenal beach that is near by (one of my favorites) and spent a couple of hours there. It was a blessed sabbath day for us.
