The last one!

This is the last kool-aid packet! Is there going to be a Bible College revolt?

One of us

Ed received his three year missionary visa! This means he doesn't have to worry about immigration for at least three years....and being kicked out before his future wife, Manda. Praise the Lord buddy! I'm happy for ya.

A blessing

Satchiko-san blessed the bi le college with som fresh pineapple and even showed me a couple of new cutting techniques.

Photo shoot

Yesterday it was pointed out to me that Tamiko and were wearing the same kind of clothing so Naoko wanted to take pictures of us. So I gave her my phone; things didn't turn out so well as you can see Tamiko moving around to much or the camera was being shuck.

this was the best one

Bites, daikon, and bowling balls

Monday started off as very interesting. I woke up and my face was swollen....it got bit by a mosquito (the picture of my knee is nothing compared to my face). As the day continued the swelling went down, so praise the Lord!
Joanna went to the store and brought back these daikon that looked like faces so Hannah modeled one for us.

Then we ended the night with our last B.o.B with the students by going bowling. All the guys had a blast

Easter Sunday

the group playing ultimate frisbee

the only picture I have of these two
The children's ministry class giving a gospel presentation, it looked so fun!
Sunday was such a blessing! All of us who minister at different churches were able to stay at our base church CCGinowan and fellowship with the body there. After an Easter breakfast,( pancakes, spam, and eggs) and service we all went to the park and had a little children's outreach and game time for the bible college students. Everyone had an awesome time under the sun celebrating our Saviors power over death.

Cha-han

15 eggs, 15 cups of rice, 5 carrots, 3 onions, shouyu, mirin and a couple secret things too ;)
Today we were all supposed to go up to Nago, which is near the northern end of Okinawa and have an Easter party with pastor Tim and the local 'Nagonians'....the bummer though is that it was raining, so we changed the plan (sent a van full of students/interns). Since this was going to be a large thing I was asked to make Chahan (fried rice) for the event, I was blessed making it, I'll miss out on the eating of it though.

Tohoku team

The Tohoku team shared about their trip. It spoke to many hearts. The Lord is definitely going to do something great in the coming months!

Calmness

God knows what He is going to do....
Today was the end of the 12th week of Bible College and as always it goes super fast....way to fast. This though is expected with the kind of life that we lead out here, always keeping busy with either school work or ministry....for us to have a moment of peace, a time to calm down and just sit before the Lord is always loved. We went down to tropical beach today to celebrate/reflect on the death of Christ (since it's good Friday) and what He has done with us this far in the semester. I sat down for a bit and offered a couple of things up to the Lord (will disclose at a later date), and after that time I walked up to the shore and saw how calm the water was. This made me think about how God gives us a calm heart amongst such busyness and deadlines. I was real blessed to have this time with the Lord.

Busy!!!!!

Thank You Jesus for music!
Two days ago, I was supper busy but not with the normal studies that I need to prepare for. The Lord actually allowed me to finish those responsibilities rather quick and thus opened a door for me to be able to work on several projects for the church. It was such a blessing to work on them, they made me rely on the Lord for the inspiration to design the things....He even gave me the opportunity to listen to music to, which is a rare thing for me to be able to do. Anyways, praise the Lord!

Something new

I thought they looked like tumors, but others thought of fried chicken
The other day I tried out this donut mochi recipe. it was good, but they ended up being super oily and looked like either fried chicken or Okinawan donuts (if you don't know what they look like....just look at the picture)

A surprise question

This morning when I was walking to the cafe this taxi driver pulls a u-turn right next to me, opens the door and asks, "Do you want a ride to a special place." I look at him and say, "No....it's ok." I continue walking. I get within ten minutes of the cafe and this same taxi pulls a u-turn and says the same thing except he adds, "I'll take you for free, I need to have someone in this seat...."

Advice: don't hop in the car when someone says I'll take you to a special place.

This eggplant was so purple when I grabbed I just had to take a picture of it. Hope you enjoy it's color more than I do.

Prayer, Fasting and studies

Today was a good day, we began it with a testimony by one of the students who emphasized that we ARE a new creation in Christ, that our old man, our old self is no more. It was such an encouragement to listen to. Today was also a fasting day for the school for the up coming missions trips that many of us will be taking. Chuck Robb is in the Tohoku region helping with the quake/tsunami relief for a couple of days, then tomorrow Tommy is taking a group from the Bible College to Tokyo for a day then off to Guam for a week to minister to the body there. Pray for these two mission trips as well as two others that will be taking place next week, one to the Tohoku region and the other to Hokaido. Join us in prayer for the guidance of the Spirit, the willingness of the guys' hearts to serve as well as the salvation of the Japanese people.

A Sincere Effort

I am a missionary in Okinawa, Japan. I have been living here for over three years and have seen many things. I've attempted to write blogs in the past but they were short lived, they, unlike this one, have been futile attempts to make myself 'known' to the people back home.

The goal of this blog, is to bring all glory to Christ by sharing the adventures that He takes me through as well as eating amazing food in the process. Join me as you read the posts in a life of servanthood to our Maker
