Paradise

Asa looking @ something interesting

I live in a place that can really be considered a paradise. As I was standing here just watching the sun set over the East China Sea the clouds and the colors were just breath taking and watching the scuba divers pop out of the water really reminded me of the blessing of just being able to be in such a unique place. Man, God is good.

Japanese baseball

Before Rob's game.....his team lost. bummers

I've never noticed this but unlike America (as far as I can remember) here in Japan instead of hired people coming to take care of the field the teams will water the dirt down and prepare the lines and all. I just thought that its cool how they just run out with their home made rakes to level the ground and everything.

Whoa

Our School/Church ad in the Marine News paper and Okinawa Living magazine.

Man, who would have thought that the Lord would allow me to study graphic design for a couple of years and really love it, then Him take it away and then giving it back to me with a single purpose. To glorify Him. God is so good, when I was younger I always wanted to go into the graphic arts field but as we all know things changed and I ended up going to Bible College instead (which by the way was the greatest thing I've been allowed to do.) During my whole Bible College experience I not once touch the graphics programs and in my recent past the Lord has opened up doors for me to do a grip of projects for our church here in Ginowan (flyers, banners, signs, advertisements, etc.) admittedly I am still not that great at it but His hand has been on me with these tasks and thus have blessed not only me but the church with quality work. Praise the Lord for all the work that He has done in me and will continue to do with me. If the Lord has taken something away from you (like something you really love to do) don't worry, but focus on Him because he is training you so that when it is time to receive that love again you know what your purpose is for it.

It's that time again

The count down has begun. The Bible College will start in two weeks and today we pick up our first student.

This semester I will only be teaching AV (Audio Visual....basically a sound class), but that doesn't mean this is all that I'll be doing, I'll be taking care of the kitchen as normal and organizing the student body in various ways. So please keep me as well as all of the other teachers and students in your prayers.

thanks!

NIkku-man

Nikku-man (not man but a long 'a' so maan) is a chinese food, it is meat (typically pork) rolled up in a dough ball that is then steamed for 15 min. Our friend Mei-Lee blessed all of us here by showing us how to make them.

Thank you Jesus for giving us so many different friends who know different foods!

a Huge blessing

The Lord has blessed with with the finances and time to build a sound booth for the church, its so sweet. Praise the Lord.

Takoyaki!!!

the takoyaki in the electric skillet

If you don't know what takoyaki is let me tell you! it's basically grilled octopus tentacles in a breaded ball. These things are so good! the dough is like pancake batter but thinner and mixed with green onion and diced cabbage, they get this round shape by turning them in the divoted skillet with a stick until they are golden brown. plating is just as fun as spinning them over and over....you put them all on a plate, drizzle a special sauce them, do the same with mayo, sprinkle benito (dehydrated fish flakes).....this part is cool cause once they make contact with the hot takoyaki they begin to spaz out in a sense and just move all crazy with the heat. And the very last thing that you put on is the crushed seaweed type thing (I forget exactly what it is). Then you eat and enjoy the warm creamy ball.....so good!

VBS

Cooper the dog

Man oh man, was this a busy week. Our group helped out our friends at CCOkinawa with their VBS (I heard that there was over 100 kids....thats grip load over here). It was a total blessing to be with the kids ( I was with the toddlers) and being 'Cooper the dog' for them.

Okinawa Summer

Asa doing a traditional game in Japan

some of our friends at 21st Century Park

Summers here get crazy, that its beyond fun. Though it may be beyond hot, the Lord totally blesses us with days that are just too good. The other day we were invited to a CCNago outreach/bbq, we got to hang out with the fellowship there and meet new people, we even were blessed with a phenomenal firework show. In the above picture you see Asa blindfolded with a bat getting ready to hit something, that something that he was going to hit is actually a watermelon. What happens is that the person with the bat gets spun around until dizzy then they are directed by their friends to the watermelon of which they are to whack....sounds easy, but it took several people to finally get it done. After it gets whacked, you open the bag and start eating the melon.
